The veteran India pacer Ishant Singh, who was ruled out to play in his absence for the Ranji Trophy phase of the league, was excluded from his playing side by Delhi after Tamil Nadu won the toss and chose to bat first during the Ranji Trophy contest held in Guwahati this the 17th of February (February 17).
ICC U19 World Cup-winning captain Dhull ran to score a run-ball 41 to top the order, but Delhi was beaten by two quick wickets TN the pacer Sandeep Warrier.

Ishant Sharma is expected to be a part of the Delhi squad for its first game against Tamil Nadu on Thursday (February 17).
The only issue is that Ishant won’t be present for the intense showdown because he is in five days of mandatory quarantine.
He is expected to be in the squad for the second match against Jharkhand on the 24th of February.
The final and third Delhi match will be against Chhattisgarh.
“Ishant has reached today. He is expected to be in the squad by the second game. The team would be more beneficial if both pacers were in the first game, but their return is welcomed and will help players,” an official source from the team informed PTI.
The veteran pacer is not an absolute certainty for the national team’s playing eleven, but he may be able to play an appearance during the home series with Sri Lanka next month.
A top official from the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) claimed the Ishant decided to change his opinion regarding playing for the Ranji Trophy after not selling his ticket during the IPL auction.
“If you don’t think he’ll even play in the Ranji Trophy, there is no information available to anyone to think about him. If national selectors are to consider him, he must play. The player might have opted to skip if he’d had the IPL agreement. He’s on a 3:30 pm flight scheduled for today,” the official said.
An additional India speedster Navdeep Saini is also expected to arrive in Guwahati to play this year’s Jharkhand game.
Saini was part of the India ODI team in Ahmedabad and must not be quarantined upon arrival in Guwahati.
He is 33 years old. Ishant has played in 105 Tests but has been pushed down to the bottom of the list since the appearance of Mohammed Siraj and now Prasidh Krishna.
He didn’t play any Tests at all in South Africa.
India U-19 Captain Yash Dhull started alongside Dhruv Sidey in the first game, which is crucial for both teams to make it to the quarterfinals.
“He is fit to start. He’s in good shape, and it is highly recommended to allow him to play when he’s performing well. The source added that there is no point in picking him but having him not play,” the source added.
Delhi Head coach Raj Kumar Sharma had heaped praise on the young batsman earlier on Tuesday (February 15, 2007).
“He is a phenomenal talent. He’s shown this in his semifinals match against Australia. He’s a promising potential for the future of India,” Sharma told PTI about his hundred against Australia at India’s under-19 World Cup.
