New Delhi, February 17: Delhi police arrested an auto air conditioning mechanic in connection with the Red Fort violence during the tractor parade on Republic Day, police said.
Maninder Singh was arrested near a bus stop in Pitampura, northwest of Delhi, on Tuesday. Two swords were recovered. A video that was examined by the police showed that Singh was seen brandishing his swords in the Red Fort and that prompted the gathering there to cause further chaos. Pramod Kushwaha, Deputy Commissioner of Delhi (Special Cell), said.
“He was a regular visitor to the Singhu border protest site and was motivated by the speeches made by the leaders there,” the official also said.
