Nice have made Hugo Lloris their main transfer target for the summer, with Foot Mercato claiming that the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper is open to rejoining his former club.
Most Spurs fans seem to be in favor of Lloris remaining in North London beyond this season. And what is more important, Antonio Conte feels the same.
He has reportedly told the Tottenham captain: who makes £ 100,000 a week – who wants me to sign a new contract to stay for the next period. And past reports have suggested there is a quiet confidence that Lloris will sign a new deal.
However, reports in France have hinted that a deal may actually be much further away.
Foot Mercato reports that Nice wants to bring the 35-year-old back in the summer. In fact, it is suggested that he is her main target.
And, interestingly, the report claims that Lloris is willing to make the change.
Of course, Nice will be able to open talks in a matter of days and their contract expires in the summer. So that may leave Tottenham feeling the pressure to make sure an extension is fixed.
Previously, there were times when it seemed inevitable that Lloris would leave before reaching this stage of his career at Tottenham. His form seemed to sink for some time.
However, it has stood out for the past 12 months. And keeping it now would be considered a huge boost.
But Tottenham has yet to consider their long-term plans. And with that, Lloris may now want some guarantees on what role he will play next season.
Conte reportedly wants him to stay. So you can get the answers you are looking for. But clearly, if there is a question mark about his role at Tottenham, perhaps the move to Nice will be a bit more attractive.
