Russian may attack Ukraine at any moment: White House. 

Washington: A Russian invasion of Ukraine could occur at any moment. The White House said Wednesday as the president Joe Biden announced plans to send Vice-President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Tony Blinken to attend the Munich conference to meet with world leaders and unify the two against Moscow.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki anticipated that an attack could occur anytime.

“We are at a point in which an attack could occur anytime and would have to be followed by the false excuse that the Russians make use of as a reason to start an attack,” Psaki told reporters in her daily news conference.

“We have discussed this in the past, and it’s been seen employed before. They could be. But I need the article you mentioned and claims of provocations in Donbas fake state media reports. I believe that you must all be aware of it. Everyone should keep their eyes open and aware of possibly fake news reports and accusations regarding chemical weapons or claims of attacks against Russian soldiers that haven’t occurred,” she said.

Psaki told the reporters that several pretexts and false flags could lead to aggression in response to a query. “And the bottom line is that we remain in the same window.”

Harris and Blinken are both Harris and Blinken are currently flying to Germany to participate in this year’s Munich security conference that will run from February 18 to 20.

“She will build upon the president’s and national security team’s extensive involvement in the past with European allies and partners. We will continue to stress with our partners our unwavering loyalty toward the security of our NATO allies, emphasize our dedication to Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty and sovereignty and reiterate our shared desire to uphold the values that have shaped European security and peace,” Psaki said.

“She’ll participate in the official program of the conference, as in interacting with allies and partners and having meetings with those who lead on the fringes,” the press secretary announced.

The Kremlin has repeatedly denied that it has plans to strike Ukraine. However, it has demanded that NATO not accept Ukraine and other former Soviet states. 

The military alliance halts the deployment of troops in the former Soviet bloc countries.

“What the President is expecting is what he knows and expects that she will be the first person in the room and the last one. She will continue to relay to the entire world our unwavering pledge to all of the NATO Allies and allies in our determination to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and our determination to put in place severe economic penalties should Russia intrude” she said.

The Secretary of State Blinken declared that Russian troops were very dangerous on the border the day before. 

But, of course, the doors continue to be open for diplomatic efforts, Psaki said.
