On Tuesday, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court granted bail to Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan in connection with a land grab matter.

The relief felt by Mr. Khan was only two days before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
However, Mr. Khan remains imprisoned since a decision in two of his cases is still pending.
Since February, Mr. Khan has been in the Sitapur prison in connection with various cases filed against him in the past year.
