Santa Barbara Half Marathon Offers Challenging Race.
SANTA BARBARA, California – On the same day that Los Angeles and New York City hosted marathons, the Santa Barbara Runners Association hosted the Santa Barbara Half Marathon.
The 13.1-mile run supports local youth running programs that provide access to the sport.
Participants received long-sleeved tech t-shirts and medals.
Phillip Reid of San Luis Obispo won the race.
“It’s a great backdrop, you know, Santa Barbara, the harbor and downtown, but it was a bit challenging, you know, there are some good hills, some uphill and some downhill, but generally the crowd it was great”. Reid said.
Many runners are returning after seeing many events canceled at the start of the pandemic.
