Shah Faesal Re-instated After 3 Years

Shah Faesal, an IAS officer, has been reinstated by the government after he asked to resign, Home Ministry officials said on Thursday. His next job will be announced soon.

After the state of Jammu and Kashmir lost its special status, Faesal resigned and formed the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) party. He was detained under the Public Safety Act, which is very strict.

Faesal, on the other hand, gave up politics after he was freed. He started giving hints that he wanted to work for the government again. His resignation had not been taken into account.

“Revive democratic politics” was the goal of the doctor-turned-party bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir. His political career was cut short.

Earlier, Faesal told PTI, “I don’t know what to say.” “The government saw my simple act of dissent as an act of treason soon after I left (the IAS). It had done more harm than good, and my act had discouraged many people who wanted to be in the civil service. My colleagues felt betrayed. It hurt a lot.” People in the Home Ministry said that Faesal’s request to back out of his resignation had been approved and that he would soon be told where he would be next.

The Home Ministry, which is in charge of the AGMUT cadre, wants to know what the Jammu and Kashmir government thinks about his request to back out of his resignation.

After getting reports from everyone but the Department of Personnel and Training, which is in charge of the IAS, it was decided to let him back in. He was reinstated earlier this month, the officials said.

Faesal was born in Lolab, a small village in north Kashmir. Terrorists killed his father in 2002. Faesal had a good score on the UPSC exam in 2009. He was detained at the Delhi airport on August 14-15, 2019. He was sent back to Srinagar and put in prison. In February 2020, he was charged under the draconian Public Safety Act during a court hearing, but the law was later changed.

First-time UPSC winner Faesal made hints on Wednesday about his return to the government service.

He talked about how his idealism let him down when he left the government service in 2019 to become an MP.

“8 months of my life (Jan 2019-Aug 2019) were so full of things that I was almost done. A chimera made me lose almost everything I’ve built up over time. Friends. A job, too. Reputation. In the public eye, there will be more trust. But I didn’t give up hope. My idealism had failed me, and I had to give up on it, “He said.

“That’s not true. I had faith in myself though. That I would be able to fix the mistakes I had made. A chance to try again. A part of me wants to forget about the eight months I spent there. Much of it has already been used. Time will take care of the rest “he said more.

There has been a lot of talk in Jammu and Kashmir for the last year that Faesal might return to the government service, either as an IAS officer or in some advisory role for the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Faesal didn’t say what he meant by “another chance.”

“People should know that life is beautiful. We should always give ourselves another chance. We become stronger when we have setbacks in our lives. And there’s a whole new world out there, far from the shadows of the past. I’m 39 next month. And I can’t wait to start over again. “A tweet from him: PTI People who work for Skl SSB.
