Sheel Vardhan Singh appointed CEO of CISF.

The government announced Tuesday the appointment of the heads of two key Central Police Armed Forces (CAPF).

These are the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which has been without a regular chief since May 25, when its then-chief Subodh Jaiswal was appointed Director of CBI, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), which it currently has IPS officer SN Pradhan as its boss.

The Special Director of the Intelligence Office, Sheel Vardhan Singh, has been appointed the new Director-General of the CISF, while the Director of the National Police Academy, Atul Karwal, has been appointed Director-General of the NDRF.

“The Cabinet Appointments Committee has approved the Interior Ministry’s proposal for the appointment of Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh, Special Director of IPS (BH: 86) in IB for the position of Director-General, CISF at Level 17 of the matrix salary from the date of incorporation to the position and until 08.31.2023, that is, the date of his retirement or until new orders, whichever occurs first ”, said the government order in the case of CISF.

Another order stated that the ACC had approved the appointment of “Atul Karwal, IPS (GJ: 88) currently working as Director, SVP NPA at Level 16 of the salary matrix to the position of Director General, NDRF by temporarily updating the position of Director General, NDRF at the level of DG in a personal capacity for a period of two years from the date of incorporation to the position or until new orders, whichever occurs first ”.

While Singh is an IPS officer from the Bihar cadre, Karwal is from Gujarat Cadre.

The sources said that the orders indicate that SN Pradhan can now be appointed regular director-general of the Office of Narcotics Control. He currently holds an additional position as Director-General of the NDRF.
