Shooting at Kroger grocery store in Tennessee killed 2 people and at least twelve others injured.
Collierville: At least two were killed, and at least 12 were wounded at the Kroger grocery store on Thursday.
At the Kroger in Collierville, about 30 miles east of Memphis, the shooting was reported on Thursday afternoon around 1:30 PM CDT.
Eyewitnesses and survivors said that terrified grocery shoppers fled the building after gunshots were fired.
Collierville Police Chief Dale Lane stated that “we found people hiding in freezes and a locked office,” They were doing the same things they were trained to do. “Run, hide, fight.”

Lane stated that Lane was able to rescue one employee from the roof.
Regional One Health spokesperson said that at least four victims are in critical condition.
It was horrible. While we are horrified by the incident, Lane stated that this community is resilient and has one of America’s best police departments.
The grocery store is located in a strip mall next to Wendy’s or Walgreens. It’s also across the street from Corky’s Ribs & BBQ.
According to police, forty-four people were inside the store at the time the shooting began.
According to U.S. Census figures, Collierville is a rapidly growing suburb with more than 51,000 residents and a median household income of around $114,000.
The town square is located in a rural area and has become well-known for its boutiques, bed and breakfasts, and historical architecture.
Glenda McDonald, who works at Kroger’s floral department, said she was not hurt but shaken.
McDonald’s claimed that McDonald’s walked out from the back office and to the floral counter after hearing what sounded like gunshots.
McDonald’s said, “I just ran out of the door.” “I forgot my purse, keys, and everything.”
She claimed that she doesn’t know how many people were hurt, but she believes she saw a bagger and some customers being shot before fleeing.
Cheryl Pagliaro of Saulsbury in Tennessee was shopping when she heard what she thought was a balloon “pop.” There were at least 12 more pops.
Brignetta Dickerson, a more than three-decade-old cashier, said, “Oh no, these sound like gunshots.” The first noise she heard was also a balloon, according to her.
She was followed by the shooter, along with a group of employees and customers, through the store. She said it shot one of her coworkers in his head and another shot in his stomach.
Pagliaro was running. “Active shooter!” “Active shooter!” Pagliaro shouted at people as she walked to the nearby gym.
According to social media, the Memphis Police Department was present at the scene.
With nearly 2800 stores across the country, Kroger has made efforts to reduce gun violence in its stores in recent years.
The chain declared that it would ban the open carry of firearms in all its stores in 2019. It is the country’s biggest supermarket chain by revenue.
Kroger released a statement saying that the entire Kroger family offered support and prayers to the victims’ families during this difficult time.
The company stated that the store would remain closed during the investigation. Counseling services are available to employees.

A police officer responding on the scene was among the victims of the King Soopers shooting, which is part of Kroger.
