Singapore announces 20,312 new COVID-19 patients, 7 deaths. 

Singapore: Singapore reported 20,312 new COVID-19 infections as of 12 noon Wednesday. It includes 20152 local and 160 imported cases.

Seven people died, which brought the number of deaths due to coronavirus to 963.

The number of patients is 1,587 at the hospital, as per the most recent statistics on infections available published on the Ministry of Health website

Around 200 patients required oxygen supplements.

There are 46 patients in the intensive treatment unit, the same as Tuesday.

The majority of Singapore’s latest COVID-19-related infections include Protocol 2 cases, which are those who are in good health or are deemed to have mild symptoms.

Of the cases reported the previous Wednesday, 17322 were listed in Protocol 2, comprising 17,267 local cases and 55 cases imported.

Additional 2,990 confirmed cases have been identified through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, and 105 were imported infected.

The growth rate in weekly infections is 1.49, which is down from 1.57 on Tuesday.

Singapore has registered 642,605 COVID-19-related cases since the beginning of the epidemic.

As of Tuesday, 94 percent of Singapore’s eligible citizens have completed their complete vaccination schedule under the nationwide vaccination program.

Around 66 percent of the population had their vaccination booster shots.
