The measure applies to Pfizer-BioNTech or Comirnaty, and Moderna vaccines.
All eligible people who make their vaccination appointments from Tuesday onwards will be able to schedule their first and second dose appointments four weeks apart, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said in a press release.
Those people who have already got their first dose and have their second dose appointments scheduled six to eight weeks later can rebook their second dose appointment four weeks from their first dose appointment.
Permanent residents of Singapore and long-term pass holders aged 12 to 39 can also get vaccinated on June 30. The Health Ministry said ahead of the previously announced July 2.
However, due to the steady acceptance of vaccination by Singapore citizens and the decline in new registrations of citizens aged 12 to 39, the Health Ministry said.
People can register their interest online at vaccine.gov.sg. After registration, they will be invited to book their appointments via SMS with a personalized booking link sent to the mobile number with which they registered. You can book your set of two appointments, four weeks apart, starting June 30.
As of June 28, more than 5.3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine already completed, the Health Ministry said.
About 3.3 million people, about 60 percent of Singapore’s population, have received at least the first dose of the vaccine. A total of 2.1 million people received their second dose and completed the full vaccination regimen.
