Son Heung-min says 1-5 losing to Brazil is learning for South Korea

Son Heung-min says 1-5 losing to Brazil is learning for South Korea.

Son Heung-min is optimistic that South Korea’s 5-1 hammering by Brazil on a friendly Wednesday would serve as a learning lesson for his World Cup-bound side.

The prolific Tottenham Hotspur attacker failed to score in front of almost 64,000 spectators at Seoul’s World Cup stadium. But the five-time World Cup champions Brazil strolled to victory.

Son told Yonhap News Agency, “It was an honor to learn from such a world-class staff.” “It was a really challenging match for us, but it also provided us with a chance to learn a lot.”

“They’re the kind of players who can take advantage of even little errors,” he said, “and we need to improve in that area.”

“The majority of their five goals came from our errors. But, on the other side, I believe the fact that we were able to generate scoring opportunities against such a strong squad was promising.”

South Korea also plays Chile, Paraguay, and Egypt this month as part of their preparations for the World Cup finals in Qatar later this year, which will be their 10th consecutive attendance.

“It’s likely not the outcome our fans were hoping for, and we’re unhappy,”

Son added. “We are well aware that we have a long way to go. But, until the World Cup, we’ll do all we can to make our supporters happy.”
