Soon After the CBI searches, Karti Chidambaram tweets, "I have lost count."

Karti Chidambaram, who is facing a fresh investigation over suspected foreign remittances, tweeted today that he had “lost count” of the number of charges brought against him.

Mr. Chidambaram made the remarks after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched various homes and official locations related to him today.

“I’ve lost track of how many times this has happened. He remarked, ” it has to be a record, “In a cryptic Tweet.

Around seven locations associated with Karti Chidambaram, his accomplice Bhaskaraman, and others are allegedly being searched.

The searches are said to occur at roughly seven of the Congress leader’s homes in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, where Karti Chidambaram was elected Lok Sabha.

According to reports, the investigating agency has filed a new complaint against Karti Chidambaram for allegedly taking illegal gratification. According to sources, between 2010 and 2014, the Congress MP facilitated a project visa to a corporation for a power project in Punjab in exchange for illegal gratification.

The agency discovered several papers related to this case while investigating the INX media issue.

Karti Chidambaram is also being investigated in numerous instances, including involving the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) permitting INX Media to receive 305 crores in foreign cash when his father was the finance minister.

On May 15, 2017, the CBI filed a corruption complaint in the case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) then filed the money laundering case.

CBI arrested Karti Chidambaram in February 2018, and he was given bail after a month in March.
