Stalls At Railway Platforms To Sell Masks, Sanitizers, Bed Rolls

New Delhi:

At the time of the coronavirus, Indian railways have decided to sell masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, bed kits at multipurpose stands on platforms. As a precautionary measure to check for COVID-19 infection, it is now mandatory to wear masks when you leave home or travel.

Hand sanitizers and fresh bedrolls are important to people traveling during these times. Sheets and pillows are no longer provided to passengers after the start of train services when the blockade was phased out. This was done to verify the spread of the deadly virus.

The stalls on the platforms, managed by private contractors, will now hold items that travelers may need for best hygiene practices. In addition to toiletries, books, over-the-counter medications, and packaged foods, the booths will now sell essential items necessary to protect passengers from the coronavirus, according to instructions issued by the Railroad Board.

“Considering the fact that passengers traveling during these times may need certain items, which they would have to buy in case they forget to get them from home, we have run our multipurpose stalls to sell them. They must be sold in MRP and speculation will not be allowed, “a senior rail official told the PTI news agency. Sheet sets will include pillows, blankets, and face towels. “Since we have stopped giving these items due to the pandemic, passengers can either bring their own items or buy them at the booths,” said the official.

The Indian Railways say this has been done to make passengers feel more comfortable while making sure that all government guidelines for COVID-19 are followed.
