Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said hospitals that make false claims about oxygen shortages will face action.
Yogi had previously said that the provisions of the National Security Act would be involved against anyone trying to create fear and panic during the pandemic. “Some hospitals alleged oxygen shortage, but they were found to have an adequate supply on inspection. The threat of action is against such entities. Those hospitals with genuine problems should approach the district magistrate or the chief physician to resolve their problem,” added the chief secretary, Navneet Sehgal said.

He said arrangements were being made to purchase more oxygen and guidelines for automatic oxygen had been published. Under this, the entire government, private hospitals, and those that become COVID-19 care units will need to provide oxygen data to the government.
