India survived some nervous race finishes after Suryakumar Yadav’s first fifty years to record an eight-race victory over England in the fourth T20 International here on Thursday.
When asked to bat, India went 185 of 8, their highest total in the series, thanks in large part to a 57 of 31 balls from Suryakumar and then restricted England to 177 of 8 to win the match and level the series. out of five games 2-2.

The visiting team was on the hunt until Ben Stokes (46 of 23 balls) and Jonny Bairstow (25 of 19) were in the fold with Indian bowlers filtering runs in the middle. The dew also created problems for players to catch the ball.
But the home team recovered well with Hardik Pandya and senior pacemaker Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the way. England needed 23 from the last time and Jofra Archer hit a four and a six but failed to get the required runs in the end.
From 132 of 4 at the end of the 15th over, England was able to add just 45 runs in the last five overs.
India was led by Rohit Sharma in these anxious moments when Virat Kohli left the field.
Shardul Thakur finished 3-for-42 while Pandya had 2-for-16. Rahul Chahar also had two and Bhuvneshwar Kumar a wicket.
Previously, India kept England at bay by giving away just two runs in the first two overs and eliminating the dangerous Jos Buttler (9) in the third.
But Jason Roy (40) and Dawin Malan (14) started picking up the pieces, with England going 48-1 after the power play.
Malan was brought down by Shardul Thakur when he was 3, but didn’t add too many runs as he was off 14 in the eighth plus with Rahul Chahar cleaning him up.

With the order rate close to 10 over, England had to play the shots, but Roy was unable to have complete control of his shot from Pandya in the ninth for Suryakumar to complete an easy catch near the edge.
With 71 of 3 in the middle of the stage and the sell rate of more than 11 races per over, England had to take risks and Ben Stokes did just that with two huge six, one against Washington Sundar and the other against Chahar. .
With the spray giving spinners a hard time, Stokes and Jonny Bairstow reached the limits required to keep the order rate close to 10 and above.
Stokes was in particularly sinister form as he cleared the boundaries with ease.
But Bairstow’s dismissal in the 15th and Stokes’ two later turned the party in favor of India. The duo had shared 65 runs for the fourth wicket.
After returning Stokes, Shardul Thakur took two out of two.
Earlier, Suryakumar crushed a fifty-blister maiden and propelled India to 185-for-8 after the hosts were asked to hit.
Suryakumar, who replaced an injured Ishan Kishan, hit six fours and three sixes on his 57 of 31 balls for the highest score for India. He made his debut in the second T20I but did not hit in that game.

India didn’t have a great partnership, but quick shots from Shreyas Iyer (37 of 18 balls) and Rishabh Pant (30 of 23) brought the hosts to their series-highest total.
England reopened the attack with Adil Rashid, but Rohit Sharma (12) beat him up for a six on the first ball of the match.
But Rohit’s promising innings were cut short in the fourth more when he was caught and thrown by Jofra Archer, who took a career-high 4/33.
Suryakumar hit Archer for a six on the first ball he faced in international cricket, scooping up the gaps and finding the limits to keep the score moving, though England’s bowlers were by no means misplaced.
