The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was unable to sleep at night when he was accused of sexual harassment in October 2018, in the wake of the #MeToo movement. On Thursday, Kushal Zaveri, one of the directors of the popular telenovela Pavitra Rishta, took Instagram and recalled the mental state of the deceased actor during that phase. Zaveri, who stayed with Sushant at the time, detailed how the late actor suffered when a section of the media made #metoo accusations against him, claiming he had misbehaved with his Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi.
Sushant Singh Rajput was so disturbed that he couldn’t sleep for four nights until Sanjana came out and denied the allegations, Zaveri’s Instagram post revealed. “I stayed with Sushant from July 2018 to February 2019 … the most vulnerable thing I have seen him was during the #metoo movement in October 2018 … he was attacked by electronic media without any solid evidence … We did everything I do my best to contact Sanjana Sanghi, but it seems that she was in the USA and was not available for any comment (strange coincidence). Sushant knew in his mind who was targeting him, but he had no evidence to call them … I remember Sushant couldn’t sleep for 4 nights waiting for Sanjana to clear up the accusations … He finally cleared his name on the fifth day and everything seemed like a harsh victory won as if the battle was over, ”shared Zaveri on Instagram.
He added: “I’m posting this here not just for closure, but also to find out if the Sushant people thought they were targeting it were really behind this. #justiceforsushantsinghrajput ”.
Pavitra Rishta was Sushant’s second appearance as an actor, and his role as Manav Deshmukh made him a household name on television before he was dubbed by Bollywood stardom.
Sushant, 34, was found hanged in Mumbai on June 14. The post mortem report indicated that the actor committed suicide. Sanjana Sanghi was Sushant’s co-star on Dil Bechara, her latest release, which premiered on OTT on July 24.
