Gummidipoondi is an Assembly / Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It belongs to the Tiruvallur Lok Sabha constituency.
In the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly election, the constituency had a total of 2.60,912 registered voters.

Winners and results of previous elections
In the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly election, AIADMK’s KS Vijayakumar (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) won the Gummidipoondi seat. He obtained 89,332 votes, against 65,937 votes won by his main rival CH Sekar of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
In the 2011 elections, CH Sekar from Desiya Murpokku Draviar Kazhagam (DMDK) won the seat of Gummidipoondi by defeating KN Sekar from Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK).
The Gummidipoondi Assembly constituency is expected to go to the polls in April or May 2021, as part of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2021.
