Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit tests positive

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit tested COVID positive on Sunday. Eighty-seven employees, including security personnel and some office staff members who worked closely with the governor’s office, were found infected of a total of 147 who were examined for COVID at the Raj Bhavan in the past 10 days.

“It is asymptomatic and clinically stable. He underwent more tests and evaluations ”on Sunday, the bulletin stated, adding that his infection was mild and that he was informed that he had isolated himself at home and will be monitored by the Kauvery hospital medical team. He was taken to the hospital in Alwarpet in his official convoy on Sunday morning.

An official statement from Raj Bhavan had previously confirmed that the Governor had isolated himself two days ago after three staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
