The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the results of the recently concluded Tamil Nadu urban local body elections on Tuesday. The count of votes will begin at 8 am.
Local body elections took place on the 19th of February. The counting process will begin by mailing ballots to 268 centers throughout the state.

In Chennai, votes will be counted at one center in every one of 15 zones. Chief Election Commissioner for Tamil Nadu, V Palanikumar, has announced that the office put extensive arrangements in all of the 268 counting centers across the state.
Palanikumar was the chairperson of a virtual commission session, which reviewed the procedures for the count of votes.
This includes installing CCTV cameras, deploying security personnel power supply, network connectivity, and other small requirements.
The Chief Election commission chaired the virtual meeting and discussed arrangements made for processing postal ballots following the Covid-19 standard protocol, releasing the results early, and uploading the results.
The discussion focused on the issue of Certificates and the first assembly of the elected representative on 2 March.
Tamil Nadu State Election Commission Secretary, A. Sundaravalli, Commissioner of Town Panchayats, R. Selvaraj Director of Municipal Administration, P. Ponniah, numerous district collectors attended the virtual meeting.
For those who aren’t aware local body elections in TN took place following more than ten years.
The elections were held was in 2011 when the AIADMK was the dominant party across the entire state.
