Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij alleged Tuesday that the DNA of those who set off firecrackers in the country if Pakistan wins a cricket match against India cannot be Indian. He also said that you have to be careful with “traitors” who hide in the country itself.
“The DNA of those who set off firecrackers in India when Pakistan won a cricket match cannot be Indian. Beware of traitors hiding in our own home, ”Vij tweeted in Hindi.
The BJP leader’s comments come amid media reports of anger at Kashmiris for celebrating the neighboring country’s victory.
Pakistan had recorded a 10-wicket victory over India in the ICC T20 World Cup qualifier in Dubai on Sunday.
After the match, a fight broke out between a group of students from Kashmir and those from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar at an engineering institute in the Sangrur district of Punjab.
On the incident, the leader of the National Conference (NC), Omar Abdullah, said he was distraught upon hearing about the alleged physical assault of some Kashmiri students and urged Punjab’s chief minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, to investigate the matter.
