The Farmer Will Become A Laborer on His Own Land
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made big comments on the Agriculture Act. Arvind Kejriwal has termed the new agriculture law as a “death warrant for farmers”. Kejriwal made the remarks during a meeting with farmers’ leaders on Sunday. Kejriwal invited peasant leaders from western Uttar Pradesh to the assembly for lunch.
The Delhi Chief Minister said the three new agricultural laws are death warrants for farmers. If these laws are enforced then the whole agricultural system will fall into the hands of some traders and the farmers will be ruined. Kejriwal added that if the law is implemented, Indian farmers will become laborers on their own land.
Kejriwal said the central government should repeal these laws. The meeting with Kejriwal was attended by 40 peasant leaders from western Uttar Pradesh. Farmer leader Rohit Jakhar said, ‘Farmers on the border of western Uttar Pradesh have taken to the streets to protest against the law but the Yogi government has cut off electricity and drinking water services there. On the other hand, the Kejriwal government has supported the peasant movement by providing drinking water there.
The movement that has started centering on agricultural law is not going to stop. Farmer leaders have repeatedly demanded the repeal of agricultural laws. At the same time, they have warned to take some steps if the law is not repealed.
