The Mimic Tear Boss forces players to rethink their builds: Elden Ring has a lot of bosses in its open world, from the main baddies who stop players from progressing to the ones hidden in dungeons that you can find. This isn’t because it’s hard, but because it makes players think about how they’ve built their character up to that point in the game.
In Akron, the Eternal City, an optional boss called the Mimic Tear. You can find it by exploring the underground area of Akron. Players have to walk a long way into the boss arena before they see what looks like one of Elden Ring’s many Silver Tear enemies, but they don’t know which one it is yet.
If they’ve been through the whole of Nokron, the Eternal City, chances are they’re ready to fight another one of these Silver Tears with more health and damage. However, the fight that takes place is very different.
What Does The Mimic Tear Do?
It doesn’t stab or shoot large spikes at the player as a Silver Tear would. Instead, the Mimic Tear becomes the player character that came into the boss room. The Mimic Tear also copies the same armor, spells, items, and spells that the player has when meeting the boss.
Because of the player’s build at the time of mimicry, this fight could be a breeze or a test to see if their Tarnished is strong enough.
Players can easily beat the Mimic Tear by taking off all their Elden Ring gear when the Mimic Tear appears. This leaves the Mimic Tear to copy a naked, defenseless Tarnished, which is easy for it to do.
It only needs to put the player’s gear back on once it has copied them. The fight is now a piece of cake. In most games, this is what most people do. It saves them from having to fight an exact copy of themselves.

Fighting Yourself Is Good Exercise
Players may or may not have been told to do this by From Software, but they should take this chance to fight themselves as a way to learn about their character’s strengths and weaknesses. It’s not just about attack power or health.
Fighting the Mimic Tear may help the players think of new ways to get the most out of their weapons and spells. They could come up with other ways to use their katana. In between spells, a mage could use weapon attacks.
There are many different ways to use weapons and spells in Elden Ring that players could spend hours playing around with different combinations.
Because some people don’t like the idea of fighting themselves, there’s still another way to learn from their build after they cheat on the Mimic Tear boss.
Mimic Tear Ashes can be found in an area that isn’t too far from the arena where the boss fights. They will need a Stonesword Key to get into the area, but if they do, they will get a summonable ally that looks like them.
Players can then watch the Mimic Tear as it fights with them on their adventures to learn more about it.
The Mimic Tear isn’t a hard boss to beat when you play Elden Ring. It isn’t even on the main path. Even so, it’s not every video game that gives players the chance to fight an exact copy of themselves, so it’s important to enjoy it.
You can get the game Elden Ring now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One X.
