The procedures of the forthcoming budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which begins on May 23, will be “digital” in many aspects.
Speaker Satish Mahana said on Wednesday that the forthcoming session, dubbed ‘e-Vidhan,’ would see MLAs ask questions from their seats using mounted tablets.
He added that the House’s proceedings would be broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook. Until the present, only UP Doordarshan broadcasted such programs.
During an all-party conference organized by the assembly speaker on Wednesday, all political parties addressed the implementation of e-Vidhan, beginning with the next budget session.
Later, Mahana told a news conference that the governor’s speech and budget would be published on e-Vidhan.

By the next session, Mahana said, all government ministries will be connected to e-Vidhan, allowing all information to be received electronically.
He also said that connecting all legislative assemblies around the nation on a single platform would begin soon. There will be an e-Vidhan system in the media gallery starting with the next Vidhan Sabha session.
The agenda of the proceedings and written questions and answers will be accessible on both paper and tablet throughout this session, he stated.
By 10.30 a.m. on the day of the session, the members of the assembly’s questions and answers will be accessible on the tab.
However, he said that attempts would be made to make the assembly job paperless by the following session.
The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly has 403 members, but seats will soon be raised to 416.
According to Mahana, many cabinet ministers are also members of the Legislative Council, and they must respond to queries from MLAs. As a result, the number of seats for them has been raised.
He said a training session on the house processes would be conducted for new members on May 20 and 21.
All MLAs are invited to attend an e-Vidhan training on May 21.
According to Mahana, all legislative party leaders attended the all-party meeting on Wednesday.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna and several ministers from the Treasury bench attended the meeting.
When questioned whether Akhilesh Yadav, the assembly’s opposition leader, attended the meeting, he said that Yadav had previously told him of a personal commitment and that Iqbal Masood of the Samajwadi Party had taken his place.
The house business advisory committee will determine the length of the forthcoming session. According to sources, the Speaker said that no one’s voice would be silenced at the meeting. Everyone will have an opportunity to speak and voice concerns.
He was claimed to have urged everyone to participate in the smooth running of the procedures. VN VN PTI ZIR SAB SNS SNS
