There is no time limit on our work: The United States has stated that evacuation efforts will continue after August 31.

As the United States military races against time to complete its evacuation mission in Afghanistan by August 31, Washington has said that efforts to help its citizens and allies leave the country will continue beyond the deadline.

“Let me be obvious on this: there is no deadline for our work. With an airport up and running and international pressure, those who wish to leave Afghanistan will be able to do so,” Al Jazeera said, citing US Secretary of State Antony. Blinken.

Antony Blinken said the United States and its allies would do everything possible to pressure the Taliban to allow exits after the withdrawal.

“The Taliban have made public and private commitments to provide and enable safe passage for Americans, third-country nationals, and Afghans at risk as of August 31,” Blinken said.

The remarks come days after the Taliban warned of “consequences” if the United States and its allies extend the troop presence in Afghanistan beyond August 31.

However, on Wednesday, the Taliban told Germany that Afghans with legal documents could travel on commercial flights beyond the August 31 deadline.

The rush to leave the war-torn country has led to heartbreaking scenes at Kabul airport, killing at least eight people. Western forces have airlifted more than 80,000 people from Kabul airport since the Taliban took control of the capital on August 15.

Echoing Blinken, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the Biden administration was looking for options to provide consular support and facilitate departures for those wishing to leave Afghanistan after August 31.

“And our expectation and the international community expects that people who want to leave Afghanistan after the departure of the US military will be able to do so,” said Jen Psaki.
