The present shapes of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are pretty different. The current Pakistani cricket team captain is enjoying a tremendous run, whereas the previous Indian team captain is going through the worst time of his career. The two have often been contrasted with one another. The friendship between the two has remained intact, however. Azam had some encouraging words for India’s star player Virat Kohli after being dismissed for 16 in the second ODI against England.
“This will also pass. Stay strong. #ViratKohli,” he tweeted.
Over the last several years, Babar Azam’s climb in Pakistan and the world of cricket has been quite consistent. His potential quickly became apparent, and after several thrilling outings with the bat, he quickly rose to the top of the international rankings.
Later, he received a promotion to captain of Pakistan. While many former cricket players feel that Babar is now the finest hitter in the world, others have suggested turning the “Top 4” international batting elite group into a “Top 5” that includes Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson.
His limited-overs performance has been outstanding, and the Pakistani captain continues to dominate the ICC Rankings.
Babar continued to lead the T20I batting rankings in the most recent orders, breaking another record held by former India captain Virat Kohli.
Babar has held the top spot in the T20I rankings for the longest time, breaking Kohli’s previous mark of 1013 days.
Babar recently hit over 1000 runs in ODIs after taking over as Pakistan’s captain; he shattered another Kohli record. He needed only 13 innings to do this. To reach 1000 ODI runs as India’s captain, Kohli needed 17 innings.
