On Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav’s turn as former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh to poke fun at BJP leaders for wearing caps at an event. He remembered how they used to comment on the headgear that his party members wore in the past.
At the BJP’s foundation day event on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders wore saffron hats, as did many other people.

When the Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav was in charge, the party’s members wore red hats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the red hats were like being on “red alert.”
PM Modi had alleged in a swipe at the Samajwadi Party that those wearing red caps “want the power to commit scams, fill their coffers, engage in illegal resource grabbing, and give complete freedom to the mafia.”
“Those who used to make disparaging remarks about the Samajwadi Party’s red caps are now sitting with caps on, “Mr. Yadav told reporters here, following photos of BJP leaders and Prime Minister Modi wearing caps on their party’s 42nd foundation day.
