Two rockets hit near U.S. embassy in Baghdad’s Green Zone.
Cairo: Two Katyusha rockets have struck Baghdad’s secured Green Zone, Iraq’s state news agency reported in the early hours of Sunday (December 19, 2021), Citing security forces.
According to the report, one of the rockets was destroyed in the air by the CRAM defense system, while the second fell on the zone’s stage, causing damage to two vehicles.
However, there was no immediate report of any casualties.
Security forces began an investigation to find the site of the launch, according to the agency said.
Green Zone Green Zone hosts foreign embassies and embassy buildings, including the U.S. embassy and government buildings.
