U.S. consumer agency plans meeting on drug prices.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission will be examining at its next meeting, new orders for large pharmacies to determine the impact of competition on contracts or reimbursements as well as other issues which affect prescription drug prices the agency announced on Thursday.
It is anticipated that the commission will accept public input and decide on the matter at its February 17 meeting in a written statement, the FTC stated in its written statement.

President Joe Biden earlier on Thursday announced his plan to cut the price of prescription drugs, on a day that government figures for January revealed that consumer prices saw their highest gain in over 40 years.
Biden’s plan would grant the Government’s Medicare program for older adults the power to negotiate prices for drugs in the first instance.
