UAE declare travel ban for unvaccinated citizens due to Omicron spike.
In light of the Omicron crisis, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced that there will be a travel ban for citizens who are not fully vaccinated starting January 10, with the requirement to get the booster dose.
“Ban on Travel on UAE citizens not vaccinated with #Covid19 vaccine starting January 10, 2022, with a requirement for booster doses for fully vaccinated,” stated the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority of the country (NCEMA) via a tweet on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
Authorities also said that the order would not apply to those medically exempt from receiving the vaccine, humanitarian or treatment case.
This decision was made because the Omicron version of the COVID-19 has been causing an increase in infections in many countries.
It has prompted an increase in hospitalizations in Europe and the US.
Fear is growing and has led to the cancellations of many flights worldwide due to the widespread spread of the new variantof coronavirus.
