UK Conservative lawmaker Neil Parish suspended for watching porn inside the House of Commons.

London: A Conservative Party politician has been suspended after colleagues said he watched pornography on his phone in the House of Commons chamber.

According to the party’s whips officers in charge of enforcing discipline, Neil Parish has been suspended from the Conservative group in Parliament until the House of Commons Standards Committee investigates.

He will continue to serve in the legislature but as an independent.

Parish, 65, has served as the chairman of the Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee since 2010.

He has represented a district in southwest England in the lower chamber of Parliament since 2010.

The charges against him are the most recent in a long line of allegations of sexual misconduct in British politics. Parliament is no longer known for its rowdy, macho culture.

Still, lawmakers and employees claim bullying, harassment, and inappropriate behavior are rampant under a system that permits MPs to self-regulate.

This week, female legislators were outraged after a tabloid reported an unnamed Conservative member accusing Labour Party Deputy Leader Angela Rayner of attempting to “distract” Prime Minister Theresa May during debates by crossing and uncrossing her legs.

In addition to Parish, the Conservative Party has suspended three other members of Parliament due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

The charges of misogyny and misbehavior among Conservatives are causing more problems for Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

His career is in jeopardy after he was fined by police for breaking government-imposed coronavirus lockdown regulations by attending a party in 2020.
