UK says Russia has lost most of its powers in Ukraine.
According to British military intelligence, Russia has likely lost a third of its foot personnel in Ukraine. Its attack in the Donbas area “has lost momentum and fallen far behind schedule.”
“Despite small-scale early successes, Russia has failed to secure considerable territory gains over the last month while maintaining consistently high attrition levels,” the British military ministry tweeted.
“Russia has already lost about a third of the ground combat force it deployed in February.”
According to the report, Russia’s pace of development is unlikely to rise considerably in the next 30 days.
Since Russia’s invasion on February 24, Ukraine’s military has forced Russian commanders to abort an offensive on Kyiv, the capital, before making swift advances in the northeast and pushing them out of Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city.
Though Ukraine’s military claimed that Russian troops were advancing elsewhere in the Donbas area, the major theatre of battle for the last month, a Ukrainian counteroffensive has been underway near the Russian-held town of Izium.
