Ukraine ensures that Russian soldiers are returning from Kyiv.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Olexandr Motuzyanyk stated that Russia has been evacuating soldiers from the Kyiv and Chernihiv directions in central and northern Ukraine.
“The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces notices a certain partial transfer of individual units from the Kyiv direction and the Chernihiv direction,” Motuzyanyk said at a press conference.
According to a spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, there has been no mass departure of Russian soldiers from those areas. Motuzyanyk further stated that after refilling the units that incurred the most losses in the fights, Russian forces might resume their advance against Kyiv and Chernihiv.
On Tuesday, Russia’s Defense Ministry declared that it had decided to restrict military activities in Kyiv and Chernihiv drastically.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainian forces are ready for additional Russian attacks in the country’s east as Moscow beefs up its forces after suffering failures near Kyiv.
In an early morning video speech, Zelensky indicated that Russian troop moves away from Kyiv and Chernihiv were “the result of our fighters’ work” rather than a pullout.
“A build-up of Russian forces for additional strikes on the Donbas,” Zelensky warned, “and we are preparing for that.”
