US Companies Are Welcome to Establish Manufacturing Facilities in India: Rajnath Singh

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told American companies on Thursday that they should do joint research and co-develop military hardware in India. He said that the relationship should go beyond the traditional buyer-seller one.

In a speech to the American Chamber of Commerce in India, he also said that India and the United States are becoming more and more similar in their strategic interests. Both countries want a strong and stable international order that protects all countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Joe Biden recently had a productive conversation. Singh says that has set a more ambitious and strategic relationship between the two countries.

“Since recently, some US companies have been expanding their presence in India with help from Indian businesses. This helps us reach our goal of “Make in India, Make for the World.” It’s just the start, we think. This is the first step, “Singh said.

“With more business, we hope that more US businesses will invest in India. Making the most of the Industrial Security Agreement, we need to make it easier for US and Indian companies to work together and make their defence technology. We also need to make it easier for both countries to be part of their defence supply chains, “he said more.

The defence minister told American companies that they could set up manufacturing plants in India. He urged them to take advantage of the policy changes made by the Narendra Modi government to help defence manufacturing.

Singh said that the recent “2+2” ministerial meeting between India and the United States in Washington was “positive and fruitful.” He said that the defence sector is a vital and growing part of the relationship between the two countries.

He told them that people need to move from a buyer-seller relationship to one of the partner countries. He said that India and the US could benefit from each other’s strengths for a mutually healthy and bright future.

Sing said that both India and the United States want an Indo-Pacific and Indian Ocean region that is free and open to everyone.

We have more and more in common in terms of strategic interests. We want a strong, rule-based international order that protects countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, upholds democratic values and promotes peace and prosperity for everyone.

In a speech, he said that “the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership is of critical importance for world peace, stability, and prosperity.”

The defence minister also said that India and the United States have one of the most important business relationships of the 21st century. Over the last year, trade between the two countries has risen, with goods worth more than $ 113 billion.

As trade grows, the India-US Trade Policy Forum talks become more critical. They need to talk about ways to increase employment, remove market access barriers, and make it easier to do business.

Singh said that the “defence pillar” of the relationship between the United States and India is stronger.

On the other hand, “it is built on the foundation of bilateral agreements, military-to-military engagements, cooperation in developing defence capabilities, and now a new emphasis on co-development and co-production,” said the man.

April 11 was when the “2 2” talks took place in Washington. Singh and Jaishankar met with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony J Blinken.

Before the meeting on that day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden had a virtual meeting in which the crisis in Ukraine came up a lot.

Singh: “As we move forward to strengthen our relationship, I would like to stress the need to move from a buyer-seller relationship to one of the partner countries and business partners.” This is what he meant.

“I think that India and the United States will be able to use each other’s strengths for a win-win model in the years to come,” he told the crowd
