This is the fourth drawdown in less than a year, bringing the total amount of US security assistance to Ukraine to over $1.2 billion since January 2021.

“An administration official told CNN that the USD 200 million drawdowns will offer “urgent military support to Ukraine,” according to CNN.”

According to the official, this will include “anti-armor, anti-aircraft systems, and small guns in support of Ukraine’s front line defenders facing down Russia’s unjustified onslaught.”

Ukraine stated earlier that Russian forces opened fire on a truck carrying women and children fleeing the Kyiv region, killing seven people, including one child.

“Russians opened fire on a group of women and children attempting to flee the Kyiv region in a previously agreed-upon “green” route. Seven people were killed as a result of this heinous act. One of them is a child, and the other is an adult” In a Tweet, Ukraine’s defense ministry stated.

According to the Kyiv Independent, a news organization occurred on March 11 as a column of women and children fleeing the village of Peremoha in Kyiv Oblast via a designated route.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously accused Russian forces of attacking a humanitarian corridor.

The conversations with the Russian delegation are taking place in a continuous video format, according to Mykhailo Podolyak, a spokesman for Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

According to state-run media, one of the keys focuses of the discussions is widening and establishing humanitarian corridors, particularly for Mariupol.

However, the delegations did meet three times in person, with no clear outcomes. The most recent conference on the Russia-Ukraine conflict was held on March 7.
