Uttar Pradesh announced COVID-affected state due to the recent spike in new infections.
Lucknow – following an increase in COVID-19 cases, Uttar Pradesh has been declared a state affected by COVID.
The Additional Director of Health (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad, in the official order of December 27, declared that the decision was taken following a thorough assessment of the situation with COVID-19.
Prasad, in his order, stated that under Section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Public Health and Epidemic Control Act 2020, the entire state is declared COVID-affected.
The decision will be valid until March 30, 2022, or until new orders are issued or earlier and reads.

It is imperative to point out that the government has also imposed a night curfew due to the rising Omicron cases beginning on December 25. The length of the curfew at night is 11 pm to 5 am.
The amount of guests allowed to attend weddings has been set at 200. UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that Covid procedures must be adhered to during all events.
According to the Union Health Ministry, Uttar Pradesh confirmed the presence of two instances of Omicron. However, they both have been cured of the disease.
