Kanpur, February 17: A bag on wheels containing 1.4 million rupees was found on the Swatantrata Sangram Senani Special special train. You can see that the train was heading to Jayanagar in Bihar from Delhi.
The bag was reportedly found in the pantry car and when it arrived in Kanpur on Monday evening, the pantry staff reported the matter to the GRP who removed the bag.
Upon opening the bag, it was found full of bills. The matter was kept as “a closely guarded secret while the banknotes were being counted”; It was completed on Tuesday night, after which the Income Tax authorities were informed.
The pantry staff did not know who left the bag there. A senior rail official said no one has claimed the bag so far.
“The train continued its journey, but in none of the stations along the route has a report on the lost suitcase been presented. Now it is up to other authorities to trace the owner of the money,” the official said.
