Uttarakhand Bans Political Rallies: Dharnas, rallies, and political demonstrations are now banned in poll-bound Uttarakhand
until January 16 because of the increasing coronavirus cases, as per the official notice.
New guidelines were released late Friday night, which come to effect on Sunday.

events, such as cultural events, etc., will be out of the state up to January 16.
It is reported that the Uttarakhand High Court had recently requested the Election
Commission to see if the polling places could be conducted on the internet and if online
voting is possible.
Elections for the state’s Assembly are due in a couple of weeks, and the Election
Commission may announce the dates later in the month.
