Vi Launches Unlimited High-Speed Night Data for Prepaid Users

Vi (Vodafone Idea) has introduced unlimited high-speed data at night for its prepaid users. Customers recharging with unlimited daily data packages of Rs. 249 and higher will be able to use unlimited data at high speeds between 12 a.m. M. And 6 a. M. Vi says that more data is consumed overnight when users surf the web and traverse on OTT platforms. Introducing high-speed data overnight will allow Vi customers to make the most of their time.

Vi prepaid users will be able to enjoy unlimited high-speed data between 12 am and 6 am, the telecoms operator announced. I saw new and existing customers getting a top-up for Rs. 249 or higher you can enjoy this benefit. Besides the minimum recharge value, there are no other restrictions with this benefit. Customers will also get the weekend data transfer benefit with their prepaid recharge. This will allow Vi customers to use accumulated data from Monday to Friday on Saturdays and Sundays.

With people staying home due to the ongoing pandemic, data consumption when it comes to browsing the Web and viewing content on OTT platforms has increased. And, according to the company, “the consumption patterns of consumer segments such as young people indicate greater data consumption during the night,” which is where the unlimited benefit of high-speed nightly data comes into play. “The new initiative also aims to increase network adherence and attract new users to our network,” Vi said.

According to data Per Ookla, Vi had the fastest average 4G upload and download speeds for Q3 2020 at 13.74Mbps and 6.19Mbps, respectively. Airtel followed closely with download speeds of 13.58 Mbps and upload speeds of 4.15 Mbps. Jio ranked third with upload and download speeds of 9.71 Mbps and 3.41 Mbps, respectively. However, at the end of January 2021, subscriber data from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for the month of November 2020 showed that Vi lost 2.89 million subscribers, the most among its competitors. .
