Virat Kohli was caught sledding New Zealand starter Tom Latham during the ICC World Trials Championship final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Sunday.
Batting first, India got off to a brilliant start ending the second day of the competition in a comfortable position at 146/3. But then the Kiwi rhythm attack led by Kyle Jamieson dismantled them in 217 during the second session of the third day.
Defending his below par first-inning total, the 32-year-old Kohli opted to start with pacemakers. Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah took command of the attack and helped their team reduce New Zealand to 101/2 before the end of the day.
Early in New Zealand’s innings, Kohli made a deliberate attempt at Bumrah’s switch to thwart the concentration of Latham, who was in the middle with Conway.
“You have no idea about Jas [Bumrah]”You’re on top of him buddy, you can make him there too, he knows he’s not getting it, guys,” he said.

On Monday, the lunch break was taken without a ball being thrown after incessant rain delayed the process. Previously, the entire opening day was faded and on day two, 64.4 overs of play were possible with poor lighting causing disruptions.
The ICC will have to use the reserve on the sixth day to make up for lost time.
The two teams will share the honors if the match ends in a draw or tie.
