Voice Chat Returns in League of Legends: Wild: League of Legends: Wild Rift is Riot Games’ effort to bring the wildly loved MOBA League of Legends to mobile devices. In many ways, Riot is a success in this project.
However, balancing the mobile users’ demands and Riot’s goals based on competition is a constantly evolving process. Riot is now achieving one of its goals by announcing it has completely re-implemented the in-game voice chat feature for teams pre-created within League of Legends Wild Rift across all regions supported.
Riot initially attempted to provide voice chat for teams pre-made in League of Legends: Wild Rift in the MOBA’s 2.4 updates, which came out on July 20, 2021. However, the voice chat’s tech implementation caused problems with performance and a range of bugs that were not anticipate.
Riot shut down the feature shortly after. However, the goal has always been to restore it in the shortest time feasible. It attempted to fix it with patch 2.6. However, it was again unable to do so due to an issue with its technical side. This a massive disappointment for everyone involved, but Riot continued to focus.
After League of Legends: Wild Rift‘s 3.0 update was released in January, Riot did not disappoint and added voice chat. However, there’s a catch. The Riot took an extra cautious approach to the latest version. After twice burned by releasing voice chat in the early days because of technical issues.

This is why update 3.0 only offered voice chat to users within the Americas for an initial “test,” with other regions to follow. Riot made it an experimental test until they knew that the software was solid.
The positive reason to be optimistic is that Riot’s introduction of voice chat on League of Legends: Wild Rift is now completed. In a tweet posted to the official Twitter account for Wild Rift, Riot confirmed that voice chat is accessible across all regions.
The only downside is that technically. Riot continues to consider voice chat as still in the testing phase rather than fully implemented.
In terms of what it means that the voice chats to continue to test the system.
It appears that this “test” could be the same as the complete release regarding features. Riot is merely calling the state of the part an experiment to ensure that users are aware that some issues could be in place.
If necessary, patches will resolve any bugs before Riot declares it to be fully functional.
In the time, League of Legends: Wild Rift players are expected to make use of and play with voice chat to their hearts’ content.
It’s also only available to pre-built teams, and, as always, there are some issues; however, it’s an excellent alternative. You can expect more news by Riot in the coming weeks and months ahead.
League of Legends: Wild Rift is now available on iOS and Android.
