The electoral district of the Krishnaganj Assembly (SC) is located in the Nadia district of West Bengal. It is part of the Ranaghat (SC) Lok Sabha constituency. Until 2011, it was called the Hanskhali Assembly constituency.

In 2016, Krishnaganj (SC) had a total of 2.62,893 registered voters and 293 polling places.

In the 2016 Assembly election, BJP’s Ashis Kumar Biswas won the Assembly constituency of Krishnaganj (SC).

TMC’s Mandal Tapas is competing from the constituency at the polls to be held on April 17, the fifth of eight rounds in the state.

According to the 2011 census, Santipur had a population of 3.20,956, of which 92.37 percent is rural and 7.63 percent is urban.

Elections for the West Bengal Assembly will be held in eight phases, up from seven last time. The first phase began with voting for 30 seats on March 27.

The second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections took place on April 1 and covered 30 constituencies.

The third phase was on April 6 for 31 seats. The fourth will be on April 10 for 44 constituencies, the fifth on April 17 for 45 seats, the sixth for 43 seats on April 22, the seventh phase on April 26 for 36 seats, and the last and eighth phase on April 29. April for 35 seats.

The results of the elections will be announced on May 2.
