On Sunday, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar remarked that his state lacks the rule of law because it is ruled by a “ruler,” presumably alluding to chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
While serving as governor of West Bengal, he says he experienced awful situations and hardships.
“As a governor, I’ve seen some dreadful situations and problems. I’ve seen the rule extend beyond the legal system. I’ve seen a scenario in which there is no rule of law, but there is a ruler “Governor Dhankhar made the remarks during a trip to Udaipur when he attended several events.

He delivered his comments during a news conference while visiting the Pratap Gaurav Kendra.
He said that the rule of law in West Bengal does not meet democratic norms and that he has yet to come to grips with the violence that erupted in the state during the recent assembly elections.
“I’m at a loss for words to describe the ferocious violence that erupted in the aftermath of the elections in the state. I’ve seen murder and rape. I’ve witnessed a condition where voting in a democratic system results in losing one’s life. I’ve seen it with my own eyes and experienced the anguish, “Dhankhar, the governor, said.
