In the meantime, the Black Fungus virus reached Kolkata too. One person has already died in Kolkata, which is raising concerns in this extreme situation. The disease has been declared an epidemic in Rajasthan. This time the health department has issued new guidelines to deal with black fungus in West Bengal.
What is black fungus?
Black Fungus caused by a group of fungi called micromycetes. People are getting this infection after breathing fungal spores found naturally in India’s climate and soil. In Rajasthan, the Black Fungus virus was first reported.
According to the health department’s guidelines, people should wear a mask properly to avoid this infection. And, it would help if you took extra care when going to dusty areas or construction sites.
When working in the garden or on the ground, you should wear shoes, long-sleeved trousers, full-sleeved clothes, gloves. After that, You have to take a bath by rubbing your body with a scrubber. Use soap.
But what if you get infected by Black Fungus disease? It would be best if you stopped taking drugs to increase your immunity. Do not take antifungal medications without a doctor’s advice. Monitor by regular CT scan is mandatory along with the nasal endoscopy. If necessary, you should remove the seriously infected area through surgical treatment.
