Woman Gang-raped in Madhya Pradesh

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four people, including a BJP official, in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, police said Sunday.

Later, the ruling party issued a statement that the accused officers had been removed from his main membership.

She was abducted in a four-wheeler, forced to drink liquor on a farm in the Gadaghat area below the boundaries of the Jaitpur Police Station, and then gang-raped on February 18 and 19, the Additional Superintendent of Police said. (ASP) of Shahdol, Mukesh Vaish.

“On February 20, the four defendants left her in front of her house. He filed a police report on Sunday. The victim was first taken to the Jaitpur health center and then transferred to the district hospital for treatment, ”he added.

Shortly after news broke that the name of BJP Jaitpur Mandal Chief Vijay Tripathi was listed in the FIR as one of the defendants, the BJP issued a statement informing that he had been expelled from the party.

Shahdol district BJP chairman Kamal Pratap Singh fired Vijay Tripathi from the post of chairman of Jaitpur Mandal and was a senior member of the party after his name was featured in the gang-rape case, the statement said.

“The BJP has no place for those workers involved in heinous crimes. The BJP deeply deplores such character and crime. Therefore, by taking disciplinary action, Vijay Tripathi is being dismissed from the position of chairman and membership of Jaitpur BJP, ”the statement read.

Efforts are underway to capture the four defendants, SP Additional said.
