A middle-aged woman was killed on Friday afternoon by a taxi driver to whom she had loaned Rs 30,000, police said Saturday. The body of Lakshmi Das, 45, was recovered from a canal near the EM Bypass here late at night.
Das, a resident of the Charu market, used to work as a domestic help in Mudiali, in the area of the Tollygunge police station. Police arrested the defendant, who was her neighbor. Your vehicle was registered with a transportation service.
