In an overnight confrontation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a self-styled Hizbul Mujahideen commander was killed, while three troops and a civilian were wounded, authorities said on Saturday.
“HM Nisar Khanday, the terrorist commander of a banned #terrorist group, was assassinated. Incriminating documents, weapons, and ammo were discovered, including an AK 47 rifle. #Operation is now underway. “Vijay Kumar, the Inspector General of Police in Kashmir, took to Twitter to express his displeasure.

According to a police spokesperson, the fight started on Friday evening in the Rishipora region of Anantnag.
He claimed that three troops and a civilian were injured in the first exchange of fire with the attackers.
“All of the wounded were taken to Srinagar’s 92 base hospital for treatment and are claimed to be stable,” the spokesperson added.
