Man who won $10 million lottery prize sentenced to life in prison for killing his girlfriend.
A North Carolina man who won $10 million in the lottery in 2017 has been given a life sentence. Also, it is without the chance of parole for killing his girlfriend in 2020.
The News & Observer says that Michael Todd Hill, 54, of Leland, was found guilty of first-degree murder Friday and sentenced to killing Keonna Graham, 23, of Navassa.
On July 20, 2020, it was said that Graham was missing. She was later shot in the head and found dead in a hotel.
In a news release from North Carolina’s 15th Prosecutorial District, prosecutors said that surveillance footage from the hotel showed that Hill was the only other person in Graham’s room.
They said that Hill later admitted to shooting Graham because she was texting with other men at the hotel while she was there.
In August 2017, local news outlets said that Hill won $10 million from a scratch-off ticket.
