WASHINGTON: Satellite images reveal a new presence of over 100 vehicles as well as hundreds of tents for troops in the south of Belarus close to the Ukraine border, an unnamed private U.S. company announced on Tuesday.
The photos published from Maxar Technologies, which has been monitoring the growth of Russian forces for weeks, couldn’t be independently confirmed by Reuters.
The photos also revealed a brand new field hospital added to the military garrison in the western part of Russia near the borders to Ukraine, Maxar said in an official statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian troops to the eastern region of Ukraine that he claimed was to ensure peace after Moscow accepted the separatist areas that comprise Donetsk and Luhansk as autonomous.
U.S. President Joe Biden responded on Tuesday by imposing sanctions and declaring Moscow’s military actions “the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
Transporters for heavy equipment, which are used to transport tanks, artillery, and other heavy equipment, were observed close to close to the Ukraine border in the western part of Russia and numerous new troop deployments, according to Maxar.
