YES or NO To Prashant Kishor? Congress meets today after the KCR surprise

It will be essential to decide whether or not to accept Prashant Kishor’s plan to change the grand old party in time for the 2024 general election.
As this meeting of the party’s top people goes on, it is called the last one. A decision is expected to be made today.

Besides party leader Sonia Gandhi, members of the seven-person committee that wrote a report for her on Mr Kishor’s proposal are expected to be there when the meeting starts at 11 am.

Chidambaram is the head of the committee, which includes senior politicians KC Venugopal and Mukul Wasnik. Jairam Ramesh and Randeep Singh Surjewala are also on it.

It’s also possible that Congress general secretary and senior leader A K Antony will be at the meeting.

During three meetings with the Congress leadership, the poll strategist has given detailed presentations about how he thinks he can help the party, which has lost a lot of votes over the last few years, get back on its feet and win more votes.

A group of Congress veterans, on the other hand, has been wary of working with the pollster because he has worked for a lot of parties that are against Congress.

Voices like these are likely to grow stronger after Kishor spent two days with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi signed a contract with I-PAC for the 2023 state elections.

While Mr Kishor has officially broken off his relationship with IPAC, he is said to be aware of all the decisions made by the group that he used to run.

Kishor’s weekend stay in Hyderabad will likely have a significant impact on the Congress meeting today because Rao’s party is in direct competition with the party.

Sources from the party have said that the special team Mrs Gandhi set up to look at Mr Kishor’s proposal wants him to stop being a member of other political parties and only work for the Congress.

Sources say that Kishor also suggested that the Congress form alliances with regional groups, like Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and KCR’s Telangana Rashtra Samithi, to help the party win votes.Congress
